Restaurant Manager

What you'll be doing

As the restaurant manager at Oliver Green, you’ll be at the heart of our operations. You’ll lead and inspire your team to deliver exceptional service and maintain our high standards. From managing daily operations and ensuring smooth workflows to training and onboarding new team members, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment. 

You’ll oversee inventory management, ensure our fresh ingredients are always in stock, and keep an eye on targets and margins to achieve financial goals. Additionally, you’ll contribute to preparing our signature salads, wraps, and smoothies, sharing your passion for healthy food and living with both your team and our customers. Your leadership will be key to driving our mission forward. 

What a week looks like
  • Monday: You start of the week by checking in into the sales data and margins of the previous week. This way you make sure where to focus on for the week coming. Are we on target with the purchase margins and wage margins or do we need to focus on reducing costs to end on target at the end of month. You will check the stock in store and make sure we have everything ordered. Then you will join and guide the team to prepare for the busiest day of the week. 
  • Tuesday: Today a new colleague starts working at Oliver Green and you take your time to explain her the structure of a day at Oliver Green. You appoint a colleague to be her buddy and make sure the rest of the team is on pace to get everything done for the day. 
  • Wednesday and Thursday: You will be working with your team to provide excellent food for our customers,  have a big catering job and you are doing a job interview to hire a new team member. 
  • Fridays and Saturday: These days we are open until 16:00 and you’ll assign the junior storemanager to make sure everything is going smooth. 
  • Sunday: Every Sunday before 12:00 we publish te schedule for the week after. You take a few hours in the morning to make the schedule and you’ll join the team 11:00 at the floor. 

What we are looking for

  • Management experience of at least 3 years, preferably in a similar type of restaurant concept. 
  • Solid understanding of working with targets and margins, including setting and achieving financial goals, optimizing costs, and maintaining profitability. 
  • Experience with procurement processes and are proficient in using procurement software to efficiently manage inventory and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Experience with recruitment processes, including conducting job interviews and selecting the right candidates, as well as onboarding new team members. 
  • You’re available full-time (38 hours per week) and have no problem working both day and evening shifts. Oliver Green is open 7 days a week from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays when we close at 4:00 PM—so your evenings on those days are always free!
  • You live in the city you are applying for, making it easy to get to work.
  • You’re passionate about healthy food and enjoy working in a kitchen environment. You thrive in a dynamic setting where freshness and quality are top priorities.
  • You have great communication skills, speak fluent Dutch and English and can easily connect with your team en customers in a friendly and personal way.
  • You’re a team player who is proactive and solution-oriented. You love creating a great experience for guests and working together with colleagues to deliver the best results.

  • Speed ​​is important. You react and act quickly
  • You are always available for your team. Even in the evenings and weekends. This is not a 9-5 job
  • You check in daily with the team on the floor to make sure everything goes well that day.
  • We believe in frequent updates, even if it feels like over-communication, to ensure alignment and efficiency.”
